Description This comic sums up my feelings on Konami as of late. Running a 1984 Big-Brother style management, canceling a game many were hyped up for, including microtransactions in one of the biggest games of the year, not including game data on the physical disc for the PC version of said major game, trying to cover up the legacy of one of gaming's greatest directors, turning well known franchises such as Contra, Silent Hill, and Castlevania into gambling machines, and shifting attention to the mobile market when there's data to indicate that market is sketchy, this does NOT paint a bright picture for me.

I hate to be grim, but I feel like Konami is dead to me after Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. The damage has been done, and I'm not sure what to think of them that's even remotely positive.

To me Konami should sell of these franchises to multiple companies.

I've already think they are dead already (or worst, they'll become a zombie that specializes in gambling machines and mobile.). So, lets buy their games used, use a video game rental service, or pirate them.

You forgotten this: ps4daily.com/2015/09/kojima-re…

Oh I'm on that boat. I'm planning on getting MGSV used or preowned just so most of the money goes back to GameStop.

Beware of microtranscactions, Captainface, I heard somewhere that Konami did something to the motherbase, something about "insurance," you need to pay them so your items and recruits won't get "stolen" by other players.

It is...Such a good game. And all of them have this awesome feature that allows you to share save files between them, allowing names for your nation to be carried on into the next game.

You know how out of the loop I am when I thought this comic meant that the company had closed its doors And though I haven't played any of the games, I do know Kojima created Metal Gear.

Just so I have this right...did they make that cover up because Kojima left Konami? Correct me if I'm wrong.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Captainface In reply to Shilohkai [2015-09-02 05:45:10 +0000 UTC]

Well, to me, they may as well close the doors to it's gaming division. They've done many disservices to gamers, developers, and even the game industry to an extent. And you're not wrong, in fact, they made the cover to COVER UP that Kojima made these games. Basically, they just want us to forgot that he was involved, since Kojima and the company got into an internal disagreement, and just recognize that Metal Gear belongs to them.

I honestly don't blame you...But at least we can say Capcom is starting to turn around what with some of their recent announcements like their DLC for Street Fighter V being all unlockable for free for the hardcore gamers.

Geeze, it looks like they tried to pull an Xbox 1. Make everything gimmicky because we think our customer base is as dumb as a sack of hammers.

Also watched the 30 minute trailer of Phantom Pain, might be the only Metal Gear that got my attention.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

Captainface In reply to NapalmManexe [2015-09-02 05:48:23 +0000 UTC]

I'd argue they've gone BEYOND an Xbox-One, andΒ  beyond some of the antics that EA has pulled, possibly even acting eviler than EA.

I want the game...but I'm not sure if I should get it now due to potentially throwing money towards them..

All I gotta say is rest in shit Konami. You've done more damage to not only your own company, but to many other fans of franchises they loved (The few you have mentioned, Rocket Knight, Bomberman, etc.).

Let's really hope that no one else follows the lord of the flies for sure, especially sense Nintendo has made a few agonizing mistakes themselves as of late.
