I've actually talked with Aso a few times but I didn't know she was concerned about the koopalings. But it's true there is nothing to fear. Ludwig and possibly Wendy made it into the new Doctor Mario app. Chances are, they'll be used in plenty more things.

Goldfarb debuts as Ludwig for the first time in Mario Kart 8.

Back then, in NSMBWii (and clips reused in Smash) Ludwig was voiced by Mike Vaughn (Mike also did Iggy back then too, before being replaced by Ryan Higgins in MK8 as well)
