I've said numerous times I wanted to go back and improve the older ones in my series of Danganronpa idle animations, and of course Fukawa, who didn't even have any actions originally, would be first on the list. I had this exact animation in mind very early on, but I knew I wouldn't be able to pull it off properly. The fact that I can now (even though it was a long process) must mean something about my progress.There's a lot more motion in this than the other ones, so I had to redraw the head a large number of times, and of course the Genocider Syo/Genocide Jack part only made things more challenging... I decided to add an iconic background, too - the cafeteria from DR1- since I had already come this far and wanted to go for something even more impressive.
I hope people really enjoy this one, 'cause I more than ever gave it my best shot. And you know what, this being my 200th deviation is fine by me. (though I've deleted some shitty old ones more than once so I'm technically cheating)

Thank you! I'm still in finals so working on something as time-consuming as one of these again isn't quite in the cards right now, but I hope to post another character sometime soon enough.

Uh, well, as the title should have tipped you off on, you DID sort of just get spoiled about this character...
As for what it IS, it's at this point a franchise that started with a game (Danganronpa, or "Trigger Happy Havoc" localized) and now also contains some anime and books, not all of which are plot-relevant or equally good.
Basically, what you need to know to get into it is that the first game is a visual novel (think Ace Attorney but with some mini-gamey segments in the trials), and it's on Steam.
The game is about a regular guy that's been accepted into a school exclusively for people with extreme talent in one particular area (from Ultimate Swimmer or Novelist to stuff like Ultimate Gang Leader or Doujinshi artist), because of a raffle - he's "Ultimate Good Luck".
As he enters the school he loses consciousness and wakes up locked in with 14 of those Ultimates (the ones I've been animating). They're then told by the "headmaster", apparently a psychotic teddybear, that the only way out is murdering another student and getting away with in in a trial phase.
There's an anime version of the first game too, but it's so condensed that it barely has any of the character interaction that made the game great (there's even a kind of dating sim aspect like in Persona, so you can hang out and bond with people that may very well die anyway). I don't recommend watching that anime first.

Yeah, DR3 was just... not good. Such a mess pretty much the whole way through, to the point where it ignores its own themes. Despair Girls on the other hand has some of the best writing in the series. Only a shame that the gameplay is a pretty repetitive, but then the devs never did a shooter before, right?
Anyway yeah, thanks! As I said in the description, I figured out the transitions long before I even dared to try actually animating them. The background was added 'cause I figured that'd make it look nicer for Tumblr - I was gonna go with the gym first, which is also really iconic, but the cafeteria did fit better in the end (and I have a better idea for the gym).
