I have a feeling a lot of people are going to be annoyed that this isn't actually related to the band HTDA. I just felt that the title was appropriate.This image is about the abuse I've endured.
Over the past few months, with the help of my boyfriend and some good friends at college, I've been learning how to cope with what happened. It's been on my mind a lot lately because upon returning to my hometown, a friend of my abuser told me that I was responsible for what happened.
No woman should EVER have to feel GUILTY about being abused,
and a REAL man would never abuse a woman.

I'm sorry you had to go through something like that. A really good friend of mine has been in a few abusive relationships. She's learned to accept that it isn't her fault and to gtfo immediately. But I'm glad you're getting through it.
As for the piece itself, simple, yet expressive. I really like it.

It pisses me off that someone would even think of abusing you--or anyone. You're far too talented to deserve anything like that. I'm glad you got out, and it wasn't your fault; I don't even know the details, but it wasn't your fault.
As for the piece overall, I particularly like the hair, but the theme overall is a little too unhappy for my current state.

it makes me angry too. and not only at the people who commit acts of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse -- but the people who stand by and let it happen, and perpetuate the idea that it is somehow okay.
