I spent about 30 mins just drawing and shading an eye x_x;This was very hard, and when I first started it, I didn't like it at all, but now I'm very happy with it, and it was quite fun really ^_^
The shading is fun if you have something to go by, and a good pencil!! xD
This scan doesn't do it any justice unfortunately, but that's my crappy scanner for you :]
I'm really pleased with this as a first crack at realism in a LONG time xD
Expect lots of eyes to come? xD;; If I can be bothered.
I DID copy this eye though, or did my best to. I didn't trace, just copied. I don't think it looks exactly the same, but you might able to see the likeliness? xD

well...i must say this is awesome for a 30min..i did my last eye in 2h 
i really like the crisp look of this 
i rarely do any..but i think it needs guts to start one..at least in my opinion
tips..well...try blending more? if you're looking for a softer look..and...try other pencils too..HB, 2B or such...vary them^^

Ugh, my scanner like to randomly scan on stuff in different formats, which makes the quality of the scan different every time. I think at first it tried to scan this as a text document x_x
Yes, it does feel good to have a little bit of traditional in your gallery, even if it is only an eye xD And, it does take guts! Everything needs to be dead on perfect, else it looks really weird.
Ok then, i'll give it s go ^^ I do only use a mechanical pencil though, as it's the only one I have x]
Still, I'll try to blend more :]
