1: The Adventures of Baron Munchausen
More people need to know about the stories of Baron Munchausen because they are truly fantastic. Terry Gilliam already did a film of Baron Munchausen in 1988 but it's time that the Baron was introduced to a new generation, and who better to do it that Disney. All they have to do is embrace the 18th century vibe and nonsensical neater of the story.
2: The Red Shoes
I would love it if they set this in 1920's Paris because you need to have a Romantic vibe to go with this story. A story about a woman who puts on a pair of red shoes only to be unable to take them off again could make for a great message about holing on too much to what you love.
3: The Buried Moon
Did you know the moon was actually a beautiful woman, and that every time she doesn’t shine ghouls and goblins of all shapes and sizes come out? Wall you will if Disney make this very interesting and engaging tale into a summer blockbuster. I would also love to see what kind of character the moon would be and see her fall in love with a human only to leave him at the end.
4: Twelve Dancing Princesses
This story has a great premise. Twelve princesses are looked in a small bedroom very night by their wicked father, so they don’t dance during the night only for them to have apparently spent the night dancing. Not only could you give all twelve princesses unique personalities, but you can also give the film a timeless message about being trapped in your own small world.
5: Three Princes and their Beasts
Three Princes find a wolf who gives them her pups as a thanks for not killing her. After words here sister gets kidnaped by bandits and the Three Princes (with help from there three wolf friends) must save her whilst facing many great challenges. If that's not the most perfect plot for a Disney film, then I don't know what is. You have three young heroes and three cutes sidekicks for them, why isn't this a Disney movie already?
6: Journey to the West
For those who loved Mulan and won't more Disney films set in Easier then this is the perfect catalyst. You have two lovable main characters in Tang Sanzang and the Sun Wukong (the Monkey King). You also have the funny sidekick in Sha Wujing and a great villain in the Bull Demon King, so your all set for great summer blockbuster.
7: The 47 Ronin
Another story from Easier, Japan to be specific, and just like Pocahontas it is based on a true story. Much like Pocahontas they would have to take many many many many liberties with the source material as poorly motivated revenge and decapitation are not applying for kids, but Ronin are so it could work.
8: The Epic of Gilgamesh
It's a tale as olds as time...literally, it is the oldest story ever recorded to date. I imagine this in the same vain as Disney's Hercules and the Emperor's New Groove as they are both ancient stories told in a modern sensibility. Also, you have a great story arc for Gilgamesh as he goes from a drunken buffoon to a proud king. It real is a story for all time.
