If you haven't herd of Blake and Mortimer, let me explain. Blake and Mortimer is a Belgian comic books created by Edgar P. Jacobs in 1946 and is still being made with new writers and artists to this day. The series follows the main protagonists of the adventures are Philip Mortimer, a leading British scientist, and his friend Captain Francis Blake of MI6 as they get involved in every adventure involving evil scientist, ancient civilisations, aliens, time travel and their sworn enemy, Colonel Olrik, who has appeared in almost every book. I thought about this series where I was writing about how James Bond should go back to the 60's and thought how good of a reference this series would be. But if they don't do that angle, I still think a movie of this series would be a great idea as an alternative, especially if they translate Edgar P. Jacobs' art style into the film. For the cast, I chose Andy Serkis as Philip Mortimer and Damian Lewis as Captain Francis Blake. And as for Colonel Olrik, I would go with Julian McMahon. I also choice to adapt the first story "The Secret of the Swordfish" for the first movie in this new franchise as it is a nice Cold War style thriller, but I would also toun down the blatant racism of the original story as well.
