As many of my watches know, I have been obsessing over this very question for weeks know, now look, I love David Tennant but when it comes to new who, Christopher Eccleston is and always will be the best. So, it just a real shame that we only got to see him hold the title for just one year, Unlike Paul McGann who had ten years’ worth of expanded media. I do understand why he leaf considering all the drama that went on behind the scenes at the BBC at this point, but Eccleston has regrated leaving the show and has returned in Big Finish fifteen years later. But what if he hadn’t left and we went on to not only appear in series 2, but series 3 as well? What would his relationship with Martha Jones be like? How would certain moments change? What would he do when confront by the Cybermen or the Master? What would Last of the Time Lords look like if it was Eccleston’s last adventure? And most importantly, Would the show be as successful without David Tennant?, If Rose never traveled with the Tenth Doctor, what would she make of his new face? Well, I think a question we need to ask is “how would series 3 look if it was made as an end of an era?” how would things have changed it Russell T Davis know that this would be not only the last Christopher Eccleston story but the first regeneration story in the new series? What kind of arcs would be set-up and conclude doing this point? What would the 9th Doctor’s end goal be? In My idea timeline, Eccleston would have three seris, regenarating at the end of Last of the Timelords. Martha would stay for series 4 with David Tennent and Donna would goin the Tardis in an all new series 5 in 2009. Steven Moffat would take over from series 6 and David Tennet and Cathrin Tate would leave at the end with Matt Smith becominf the 11th Doctor in a series 7 which would be awar universes sereis 5.
