The original Star Wars was nominated for best picture but didn't win, three years later, The Empire Strikes Back comes out that is consider one of (if not thee) greated sequel of all time along side the Godfather Part II and Terminator 2, and dosent even get a nomination. The Empire Strikes Back was way better than the movie that "did" win "Ordinary People" but probably not as deserving as two of the other nominations "Elephant Man" and "Raging Bull".
