"You think it's EASY being a dungeon dweller? Well I'm here to tell you it ain't. It's bad enough we get those weekend 'parties' through here, smashing down the doors, burning our homes and stealing our hard earned goods. You'd think the local magistrate would put a stop to it. Instead, he calls us Monsters, puts a bounty on our heads and takes a cut of whatever those marauders steal.

"It gets worse. Those raiders come in with magic, weapons, magic weapons, and in big numbers--but if there's three or four of us gargoyles they whine and say, 'that's not fair! We're only a low level group.' Buncha sissies! If you can't take it, don't try to dish it out!

"So how do we survive? Planning, lots of planning. .Oh I may not get along with the Vampire down the hall; and no one really likes the orc community on the second level, but we gotta stay sharp. Some of us hide whenever there's trouble. Those orcs on level 2? They fight. But they can replenish their numbers pretty quick too. Me I spend a lot of time doing research, finding counters to spells and weapons. Its paid off. I can honestly say. And the stuff these goobers leave behind is REALLY interesting too. Scrolls with immense magic spells written on them. Swords are common--but sometimes they talk. And I have a pile of rings that do God only knows what.

"Yeah, I've been hurt too. But I heal pretty good--and some of those potions work REALLY well on me. Wait! What's that? Sounds like there's another party coming. Is it Saturday again? Been nice chatting, gotta get ready for my 'fun'. "
