Because half of 'em didn't notice, and the other half were "Meh, who cares" or too polite to mention it?
Me, I'm only halfway to "Grammar Nazi" status; I ignore errors from consistently bad spellers/punctuators because corrections would just depress 'em rather than help, just as I wouldn't tell a twelve-year-old fanfic writer that Spock wouldn't quote modern pop songs except in a parody.
But when a writer gets ALMOST everything right, I figure they probably want beta readers the same way I and my writer friends do. Sometimes they're just typos we don't catch, and sometimes they're our individual bugbears.
For example, despite a couple of English degrees and twenty years of great writing groups, I STILL sometimes use "it's" instead of "its" for the possessive in cases like "The car was old, but its tires were new." I don't make the same error with "hers" or "theirs," just "its," but it's still incorrect. So I need to have friends catch it for me.
And, most ridiculously, I can usually spot the spelling error between "rein" (the strap you steer a horse with) and "reign" (to rule) when other people make it, but I still sometimes get it wrong myself.
A few writers, especially insecure young'uns, find ANY correction depressing enough to cause writer's block, but the rest of us pretty well help each other out without any of us worrying about it.
Of course, you still have to decide whether their advice is right for YOUR characters and your story; a well-meaning young friend tried to correct one of my character saying something like "Dunno about that" to "I don't know about that" even though it would be out of character for him. But even that can be useful, because it reminds you to check the character's OTHER lines to make sure their dialect is consistent.
