Description Stardate 2344.85: The U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701-A) is heavily damaged in the Battle of Narendra III. If the they didn't have a clocking device on loan from the Klingon High Council, the Enterprise would have been destroyed. With most of the senior officers killed in the line of duty including Captain Rachel Garrett and Commander Storn, command fell to Lt. Commander Richard Castillo. Although High Chancellor K'mpec deplored the retreat of the Enterprise, resulting in loss of the Narendra III colony. Shortly afterwards, Admiral Kevin Riley field promoted Lt. Commander Castillo to Captain and gave him command of the Enterprise, he then ordered the Enterprise to K-7 for repairs.
On Stardate 2344.9, The Enterprise managed to make its way back to Deep Space Station K-7 where it took nearly 3 months to repair her. In addition, the Enterprise also managed to have it's impulse engines refitted, upgraded phaser array's, enhanced Class-V photon torpedo's and improved ram scoops. Two weeks after her refit, Captain Castillo along with Captain Juan-Luc Piccard of the U.S.S. Stargazer (NCC-2893), the U.S.S. Reliant (NCC-1846-A), The U.S.S. Defiant (NCC-13064) and the Klingon cruiser's I.K.C. A'mar, I.K.C. Bor'tas and I.K.C. Ya'vang retook Narendra III thus fulfilling the blood debt and satisfying the right of vengeance to the Klingon Empire.
Later that year, Captain Castillo was forced to utilize one of the Enterprise's major upgrades-the Saucer Separation during a skirmish with a Lyran Battlecruiser. In essence it allows the primary hull (saucer) to disengage from the secondary hull (star drive) in the event of extreme emergencies or the use as a element of surprise in a tactical situation. Most older ships like the Constitution and Excelsior ships are only able to preform this maneuver once in the event of a warp core breach for example, but the Enterprise was designed to reattach in mid space with out the use of a Starbase facility or a Dry-dock.

I'm fairly certain that I've never seen this ship before today. That being said it's amazing how much like my Mary Read Class this is, I released mine something like a year and half later. There are a bunch of obvious differences but the basic premise is certainly shared.
