Such a classic look! I completely forgot about this. I was obsessed with this design back in the day. Good job!

I actually love this design of Captain Falcon better than his current design. He was such a badass in that F-Zero manual comic.

Ditch the microphone and elbow pads. Otherwise, it's good.

I happen to like this version better. I somewhat remember it, jut not the feet.

I remember the original design for Falcon and the original F-Zero characters. I loved the original SNES game as a kid, as well as the games afterwords.
Nice job recreating the old-school Captain Falcon. I kinda prefered old look before they made him look like a steroid-pumping superhero in the N64 game.

First off, this design is ridiculously awesome even compared to the normal design.
Second, "F-Zero daredevils" instilled false hope that somehow F-Zero would come to involve Daredevil, which is basically the only way the franchise could become any cooler.

It'd be great if they used this one. I love his older look more.

Very original costume... It's odd not seeing his "eyes" behind the glasses (which makes sense), but I loved the style... XD

It was his original design from the SNES game.
I am quite a fan of his F-Zero X costume as well, but this one should also be referenced or used from time to time imo.

Huh... I see... XD
I played SNES F-Zero a lot when I was a kid... But I've never saw any artwork or character design... XP

The only thing I disliked in the old Falcon, was his helmet's eyeshield... It was circular which I nebver learned to like. But otherwise, I always thought and still think, that he's awesome.

Im basically a fan of almost all eyeshields/visors. But I respect your opinion. :^)
Either way yes, he's still awesome.

James McCloud. Doesn't have an eyeshield but uses sunglasses.
A character that cannot decide which role to play:
A dead fox from Starfox or a professional F-Zero pilot.
Now that's a character you should draw!
(When it comes to James, I think the GX version of him looks a bit better. In X, he was a bit too much of a human. LoL :'D)

Perhaps some time. Though I must say he isn't really one of my favorite characters, since I don't have much interest for the Star Fox games. :^(
His machine is fun to drive though.
I will agree, his GX design was a bit more interesting that the X one. A few characters were improved design wise, I'd only wish it could have been illustrated instead of 3D rendered.

Well, rendered or illustrated, luckily there is the F-Zero anime (And the Falcon Densetsu season) where you can see all characters drawn.
In the DVD releases (Well, japanese only, since the english adaptation was canceled) there is a bonus section in the discs and they got the original character and machine designs as the Artwork Gallery's selection. Also some F-Z and GX artwork too, which is pretty neat'o.

Wowee really? Thats awesome.
I've wanted to get my hands on some F-Zero X artwork for the longest. In particular rare ones like this one I saw on the old Japanese N64 site for the game.
Gah!

Well, that's the place I ordered my DVD's from.
I can't find the DVD's anywhere ripped with good quality (The whole DVD that is, with the 4,8Gb size) so I just suggest to order 'em.
Besides, as the saying goes: "A real fan doesn't download pirated stuff, a fan buys the original".

Sadly while I would like to purchase those, it would probably be in a long while as they are pretty pricey. :^/
But I agree with the fan statement. Though I still would enjoy seeing that F-Zero X artwork.

When I ordered those, they were only 20 bucks each...
Now they are up to 40 bucks?!

All except for the brown shoulderpad, gloves and elbowpads I'd say this one looks better than the GX version. Thats just my opinion though.

The first design of the Captain, it still kickass imo. The nipple suit still bothers me though.

CaptStrife In reply to Count-Sabrewulf [2008-07-25 07:36:43 +0000 UTC]
Yes very.
As for this "nipple suit" it never bothered me, I think the costume is cool overall. And I never noticed the placement of the buttons until people wouldn't shut up about it. They still don't bother me, however, on the early artwork and CG clips from GX, they look creepy. :^(

I like em both, but yeah I like the second the most. btw by all means this one is still comic book style, since the artwork of the first game was drawn with a western comic book look.
Its F-Zero's thing. heh
