Description
A refined version of a sketch I did some time last year. A friend of mine said I should explore this style more after seeing [link] So far I'm liking it a lot!Drawn and painted in SAI and photoshop.

I tend to prefer a more organic look, which is why much of my digital work is made to look quite like it was made from traditional materials. I can use them but I'm actually much more comfortable when I draw with the tablet...and if I mess up I don't waste any super expensive paper or inks

Looks great, nice to see the evolution of this idea.
The first, original one was probably my favorite though. Even though this one is much better made and all that, the original had a more comedic charm to it, if that makes sense.
Love all three versions though

I may revisit this idea in the future. I like how this one turned out but I dropped the comedy from the first version and went for something a little more surreal. It worked but it's clearly going in a different emotional direction to the initial idea.

I like how this one isn't quite as gloomy, she doesn't really look all that sad. Oh and the curly pigtails are awesome. And I like the little details, like the socks being different lengths.
Just out of curiosity, what's the symbolism idea with the key?
And what's with her little colorful companion bird?
(I guess technically its the viewers job to find the meaning in those things, so feel free to keep it a mystery if that's the point)
