Thank you my friend, that's appreciated. More luck than judgement guessed shutter time and composition to great extent due to the darkness, which sprised me given the tones it came out in!

interesting shot. how many exposures at what shutter speed? or just one long one?

Thank you. Just one exposure 25 minutes long, my first go at such a time length, I will be trying again at some point, though standing in the lake for nearly half an hour at 2.30 in the morning was quite cool!

i bet... we did this just about 2 weeks ago with my group and I did 120 shots approach instead to get similar results, but I was doing much shorter exposures and had high iso instead... I am actually heading out to the mountains in about 30 minutes to try slightly different approach... today

Mesmerizing!!!! I love the warm sunset colours! But how did you catch sunset AND the stars simultaneously? It's incredible!

Thank you so much indeed my friend I am pleased you like it. As for how I got it, truthfully I was suprised at how it came out myself. I have read about long exposures, but never done any past a couple of minutes. This one was camera on tripod in the dark, manual focussed, bulb setting and then took the shot leaving the shutter open for 25 minutes with this being the end result. I was pleased with the effect and will certainly be trying it again.
