I had another go at producing a high resolution image of The Moon a few nights ago, but conditions were not completely ideal to get the images as crisp as I would like. Some slight wind meant that I could not zoom in as much as I would have liked. One night.....
Uploaded at a larger size than normal so that you can zoom in and have a closer look at some of the details.
20 image mosaic.
Individual images captured with a 10" F/4 Newtonian Telescope (1000mm focal length) running on an NEQ6 Pro Goto Telescope Mount set on Lunar Tracking.
4X Powermate
Canon 5D MkII

Your welcome, sorry I wasn't more specific, had a bit of a 2001 Space Odyssey moment.

This is amazing, the amount of detail is astonishing. I actually feel slightly daunted, thank you very much for sharing.

I'm guessing you're going to be out when the super moon happens this weekend?

Maybe, maybe not. The whole "Supermoon" thing is over hyped. Yes it will be slightly bigger than normal but it won't be 5 times as big in the sky as some internet posts are saying.
