do you ever have live casts where you explain how you do what you do. I mean... to capture what you capture, it is pure. But I would love to understand better on how to take photos in the night to capture even a fraction of what you have here.
I use a Canon T3i 18MP. It isnt top of the line but it has served me wonderfully since I got it in November.

I love how you caught the stars in the hood of the car. Would you say that 24mm at F/2 works better than 16mm at F/2.8?

Thank you Which 16mm lens are you talking about?

Meema In reply to CapturingTheNight [2014-12-29 11:12:50 +0000 UTC]
The Canon 16-35mm F/2.8 L II. I currently have the 17-40mm F/4 L, which is my workhorse lens, but was thinking of getting the 16-35 2.8 in order to really get more light in for the Milky Way shots.

this is part real part photoshopped, right?Β

CapturingTheNight In reply to smarteethian [2015-01-11 05:35:21 +0000 UTC]
No.Β Try taking a long exposure at night with high ISO's and wide open apertures and wide angles with a full frame camera, from a really dark sky site with no moon, and then get back to me about whether you think this is "photoshop" or not.

Looks like a mighty good place to take a break to me, Greg Β It would be totally spectacular to have a real paint job showing the Milky Way!Β
