Hey, this is amazing work!
Do you still happen to have the 3d model available for download? I know it's been over a year, but I would love to print this!

Thanks,
and if you want the model I posted it here a while back after I had printed it as well.

its already sliced and ready to print, I also have the Chameleon ship as well and am planning on adding more of them the ships from the game

Ah yes, I did see that on myminifactory, but I wasn't sure if it was yours or not. I'll absolutely print this out over my Christmas vacation - it looks really good.
The workshop you took these pictures in seems like it might hold some commercial size CNC machines - is that what you used to carve out this model, or did you use a smaller, desktop size machine to make this? I'm familiar with larger CNC machines for metal working, but I'm clueless when it comes to CNC woodworking. I'm interested in CNC woodcarving and would be curious to know what you used to make your wooden model.
The Chameleon looks nice! Hopefully you'll add the Little Jack to your collection, but I realize ships with sails may be difficult - the in-game ship models probably have perfectly thin sails. Might need to play around with them a little.

Thanks,,Β
I work at a machine shop and we have a cnc router that its called aΒ shop bot, along with several other cnc machines.
I uses the shop bot and a few other machines as well as hand tool to make the wooden model.
I have the littlejack model almost done but yes the sails are a issue,Β I may have to just print without and attach some cloth ones to it.

Just came across your work here. Absolutely incredible!!! Love the Delphinus and your detailed work - very jealous!
Do you remember what program you used to get the model from the game?

thanks for the comment,
as for the program this what I used tot extract the data from the original dreamcast disc
kryslin.silvite.com/exmldnet.hβ¦
but I had to do a lot of work to it in Autocad to get it to work right.
if you are looking for the model data this is where I posted it for 3D printing which can be downloaded for free
www.myminifactory.com/object/2β¦
I am currentlyΒ updating the model data to make it more compatible with printers and other stuff.

HOLEY MOLEY!
This looks incredible! You must have some serious skills for this kind of work.
Youβve done the Delphinus proud, I would say.

Thanks for all the comments
The turrets, torpedo doors and the propellers all move.
and as for the moon stone cannon just look at my other pictures of the shipΒ it all moves like in the game even the main barrel is telescopic like in the game.

Absolutely beautiful, truly amazing.
Out of idle curiosity is it one piece which you carved down, or did you make some separate parts and assemble them? EDIT: I just saw the picture with the opening moonstone cannon which answers this question. And is doubly awesome!
And out of professional curiosity, what did you use for references? I've spent a long time poring over all the pictures I could find and this looks incredibly accurate.

it is several machined and made parts put together,Β and as for reference I used the model data from the original Skies of Arcadia dream cast game, I still have my original game disc so I used those.
there is a program that can extract the models from the dream cast games,
I used it to get the model and then redid the data in Autocad and then had to scale it and refine the model data to get the basic down to make the ship you see in the picture.

Ah cool, I've encountered that program but can't find my original copy of the game, only Legends on the Gamecube which of course won't work. Will have to buy a new copy if I ever get around to trying a larger Lego version!

Very cool! Were you planning on painting it or leaving it natural? Either way, it's a great replica.
