A new OC, Lacrima <3 Actually old, but never drew him xD
Anyway this is for =Greykitty 's project ;u; A collection of cheetah images to be made for Michael, a to-be 10 year old boy who's been fighting various illnesses and even underwent surgery. He loves cheetahs <3

Anyway I thought I'd explain the image a bit ;u;
I chose Lacrima since he's a king cheetah, which to me gives a sense of power <3 Not only because cheetahs are already powerful creatures but the idea just adds more 'fluff' to it ;U;
The pose is also something I tried, for a more powerful, regal, kingly, feel. This boy has been fighting to many things at the age of 9. I say he's a brave little kid ;u;
And finally the window, on the other side is a vast open sky and another cheetah, it's mirror image ;u; If you can see the little motion blurs I put and the eye glow, as if it was leaping (moving) and free. I guess Michael would be the cheetah on our side atm. You're almost there kid! Just hang on <3
Ah well as a third fact, cheetahs are endangered. Their numbers in the wild are currently dwindling.

The glass was supposed to be a window ;U; I understand what you mean haha but donβt worry it was well, not exactly supposed to be a reflection in the first place x3 I meant for it to be a completely other whole cheetah. The same markings and everything but like in this case, two cheetahs. Both leaping but one of them (on the other side of the window) is free, and to our side heβs not. So in reality it would be like one person on our side of the window. And a person outside on the other side of the window. Not his reflection x3 Ahh I probably should add that in the description lol!
And ah yes the lighting was a big thing I had issues with ;U; I was definitely stumped at where or what the light source was so thanks for that haha. Kk I thought the front legs looked a bit awkward xD lol many plp pointed that out too so thank you

Vision: the reflection on the wall is masterfully done. The glass in the background could not have turned out any better. It looks beautiful!
Originality: I think this is very unique and really shows off some of the artist's personality and thoughts. I love how the reflection has the eyes glowing, adding something different and new to the piece.
Technique: I think the tools were well utilized. I do notice an area around the neck that could blend in more. Otherwise, everything looks really good!
Impact: this piece of art gives off an impact to the viewer, but also has an impact within it! The fierce pose gives the viewer a feel of strength and power. I love how the cheetah and it's reflection have two different expressions, making the viewer wonder what thoughts are brewing through its mind.
Overall I loved this masterpiece, and I think others will love it and be inspired! Keep up the good work!

I thought I might have a go at critiquing this, so here I go.
First of all, I am in love with that background. The clouds look amazing. I think that the glass (if that is supposed to be glass) should crack from a point, or maybe in smaller jagged pieces since glass does not crack into such even shapes. However I still do love the effect! The lighting and shading, and the way you did the markings is lovey, and they way you drew the face is pretty cool too. Such a cute face~
No one thing that really bothers me with this picture, even though the anatomy appears correct, it does look quite incorrect for what a cheetah would look like. Cheetahs are long, tall and somewhat skinny animals, and as far as I am concerned, the cheetah in this picture is a little too stocky and the limbs are a little short. Also the thigh appears to be a little thick or drumstick like, maybe try defining it more next time. This being said, I really like how you did the face on this as well. Those eyes and everything is just amazing.
I like how you draw pictures for a good cause, and sorry if I came off mean or anything here, but really I love this picture.

Vision: amazing.
Originality: Cheetahs are not original... but it's a KING cheetah! And look at that super-original background!!
Technique: Great! The cheetah is anatomically correct, and its designs are unique and beautiful. The background glass is extravagant, the reflection is spectacular, and I notice the little cracks and flaws in the glass wall. I think that the chest should curve a little more, smoothly, instead of just being fluffy. x3
Impact: It had a HUGE impact on me. Like time can freeze, you know? Like you said, suspended animation, frozen in mid-jump along a cracking glass wall. I also love the glowing eyes and streaks.

First off the idea behind this does reflect power. So you did a good job getting the idea across which can sometimes be a troubling aspect for any artist. The colors are simple, this keeps the piece from getting too busy. They are bright and vibrant and very appealing to the eye. However there is no clear focal point that I can see. Also the lighting is a bit confusing, to me it looks like it is coming from three sides at once. Otherwise the line art and coloring are done very neatly. This piece has character and originality. Overall the piece is executed very nicely and neatly.
