wow, that was just... beautiful yet sad. I think the only word I think I can find to describe this is incompatible.

Is this inspired by The Lady of Shalott, a poem written by Tennyson?

Oooh man. First of all I love the way she moves, it seems clockwork and organic at the same time... Secondly this is just a fantastic idea and really tugs at you emotionally! The bit with the balloon... Man. >u< Amazing work! You have great things ahead of you!!

I like how she looks as if she's made out of wood and the bottom of the dress looks like a gear.

hi
I'm attending an art collage and i have a presentation regarding computers in art and design. I loved your work and is it possible to make use of this picture? If you give me permission can you give me further details on what programs you used to make the picture and what inspired you to make this work ?
thanks for your time and love your work

Hi, sure you can use it! I have some still frames or you can download the animation here.
It was produced in Maya and Shake for compositing. All textures were painted in photoshop.
This was for my final thesis animation, and I wanted to tell a beautiful story about sacrifice. My goal
was to make people cry if I could I also loved steampunk and wanted to incorporate elements of that
in the work, without going overboard because I wanted to remain within a fantasy and childlike setting.
Let me know if you have any other questions

There should be one other person allowed in the tower, just one, he wouldn't have to stay, but he wouldn't leave forever,
he'd come back. Just for her to talk to, to see her dance, to spend time with. Just one person who understood and appreciated her,
and what she does, and her sacrifice. And to bring her balloons.

I agree, I often think of the boy who found the girl in the tower. He finds a way
to run the tower without her so that they can run away together (as friends).
Maybe someday I'll tell the story.

Thank you, I feel the animation is sub par, but it was never my forte'
It was so much work, I'd like to create another but it is a large undertaking.

Oh yeah I'm sure. I do minor animations in blender but nothing on this scale. What software do u use?

CaraKhan In reply to A-RZ [2013-09-04 16:20:21 +0000 UTC]
I used Maya for this one, but that was in school so I don't have that software any more. I've been looking into
blender a bit, do you like it?

A-RZ In reply to CaraKhan [2013-09-05 03:00:06 +0000 UTC]
Yeah I like it a lot! I've only done minor animations and modeling. I'm still learning it myself. But I'd definitely look into it if I were you. I'm sure you would make some really cool stuff especially at your level
