I think the two controllers story is perfect, 3 panels and it says so much, and not normally something that I would think of as a story-telling device either.
The others are great too, but there's something A++ about that one.

My father's like that, although I'd have to say that he often manages to get away with doing things that, if done by anyone else, would lead to something broken.
And I think he's started smoking again, so I suppose I now have to watch out for him setting his beard afire as well.
