Description Part one of a two-part steampunk portrait commission.

Jacket texture from . I'm unsure of where the paisley texture is from, if anybody knows please tell me and I'll either give credit or find a replacement texture. The background is from a French dictionary I bought at a college library sale.

I love the concept and the expression, but since you have such a detailed background, the thick lines and blocky coloring on the clothing and hair seem out of place. You've introduced a little more texture in the clothing, but I'd like to see you bring out the linework and detail that you're so good at. The color of the background is almost blending with the color of his face, so either darker defining lines or a subtle color change would help. I just adore him though, his expression and attitude are priceless. I'd just like to see more detail in him with a background like this one

This is a really, really great picture you have here.

I can't give you a proper critique because I'm not good at art, but I will praise you on what I really liked. I thought the idea for his hair was very clever. It's only a little detail. However, it makes an flat mohawk (I'm assuming that's what it is) look Victorian, which is absolutely steampunk!

His mischievously quirky expression and the background make it perfect.

Great job.

his left part of the head seems to be smaller than the other half. also his nose is like half of the nose. the blue part is flat, so is his white shirt.

keep working
