The line work on this, its very active and has movement to it. Colors on the belly are warm shadows making your bird seem really lively. you did a wonderful job on this.

cool! is the nuthatch similiar to Jay, as a corvid?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Carcaneloce In reply to MithriLady [2011-02-19 10:31:10 +0000 UTC]
Oh no, the nuthatch isn't a corvid, it belongs to paridae. They are both belong to Passeriformes order so have a bit of similarity. It may seem like their colors are similar (grey-blue top and beige belly), but jay's blue is brighter and beige is lighter that nuthatch's. Patterns are completly different too. Also the jay is two-three times bigger than the nutchatch

ooh ok! I had some confusion about it, 'cause nuthatch sounds like our "ghiandaia" in italian, nut=ghianda
this is the eurasian jay (ghiandaia) [link] wich is a corvid
it was a name mistake thanks for the correction.

It is so interesting (yet confusing sometimes) how species are named in different languages ^^
