Ah, but I think the background texture is a good choice. Kinda adds the sketchy feel to what 'they truly are'.
Gotta say that I like the way you do the shadings... is that what people call 'cell-shading'? I can imagine you might have used either a solid brush or the polygonal lasso tool to do those shadings..?
.... Also, you can tell that Climber's face is just trying to pull an evil smile...albeit a shaky one.

Yup, that's cel shading. Some people use the lasso tool. I use a brush. I like it because you can do it after you've resized it down to the size you want.
Haha, I imagine Karl might've had some trouble getting used to that. I mean, he had some sort of mouth before at least...how on Earth do you go about manipulating a painted face???
