Oh wow! Carmen Sandiego! ^_^ Wow... she looks so cool here... *__* I remember the game show of Where In the World is Carmen Sandiego... and her various minions in that show... the two I remember most were the twins Double Trouble... and how when they were caught these singers would sing "Double Trouble (Trouble) ... in jail....." 
Anyway! Great portrayal of a very cool villain...

Really love the wrinkles in this one. Good expression you have going there -- kind of a mixture of amused and arrogant. The cabochon on the earring looks great -- if you wanted it to look (semi)transparent, with the direction of the light source I think the highlight needs to be on the opposite side. The highlights on the glove seem a little odd to me. Were you shooting for patent leather?
What are those words in the background?
I've noticed lately in your pictures the coloration on the faces looks uneven. Almost a pebbled texture. Maybe your scanner isn't picking up one of the pigments, or the way the light is hitting the pigment is causing it to reflect in strange ways. Or maybe it's just the resolution of the picture. It seems to be doing it only with the lighter, off-white colors; or perhaps it's just more noticable with those particular colors.

Yeah, It's deff. the scanner.. it scans everything in funny..
Certain pigments to the pencils don't even like register... get picked up...
If I try to do pastely creation/shimmery colors they just scan in white.. stuff like that...

psht.. our dig cam is even worse.. everything looks washed out with flash on and lighting is all dark when not on.. just take a look at the photos I took of my larger drawings on myspace to see what I'm talking about. I'm just going to have to wait to get hold of a better scanner and rescan some of these later on just to clean up the overall image of my gallery in the future.

yep yep.. well pencil on top of sharpee marker.. like I put down red sharpee marker on her jacket first and then the pencil on top of that.. and dark brown sharpee marker for hair and then the lighter shades of brown on top of that.. It's something I've been experimenting with to cut back the amount of "filmy" looking substance (maybe from the wax/residue of the pencils) that appears when scanned. I'm glad you like it.

That was seriously my favorite show ans game as a kid. I always had dreams of being on the show someday, in fact that was the only reason I studied/the only way I learned any geography. I always wanted a wardrobe like hers too. Maybe that's why I'm so obsessed with period clothing.
It's fantastic, I recognized her right off, and I love your addition of the pocketwatch necklace and the justification behind it. Wonderful ^_^

I soooo wanted to be on that show too.. I got really good at World History.. my grades were hilarous.. I'd have an A+ in history/social studies and English (from reading the atlas so much my word speed went way up in a short amount of time) and a D- in math and my teachers just didn't know what to think.. ggggaaawwrrrdddd... I like had dreams of running around on that map and setting the lil red lights off.. mmmmm... and finding Carmen.. and asking to join V.I.L.E. and shocking the Chief.. you traitor!

almost 10 things wrong with your picture.....
1. hand nice- but the white stands out so much.. i can't tell what the glove is made out of (fabric)
2. the bust area, probably wouldn't have the line down the middle.... it'd be flat across....
3. beautiful coloring and shading on the clothes. realistic.
4. nose looks weird and funny. dunno how to fix that... probably shouldn't of outlined the nose in black....
5. is the hat supposed to curve like that? (at the top) ..and the brim seems weird too....

I did play one of her games once. But when I was really young (about 5 or 6 or such), I used to watch the PBS game show she had as well as the cartoon series on Fox ._.
I was quite fond of the character, aside from my classmates nicknamed me after her because my surname is Carman -_-;;
