Was this from a photograph, Carina? If so it captured a most unusual sight - a fully grown male lion with a cub. Alpha males and even younger but fully grown males have a strong tendency to dispose of cubs, especially those not their own progeny. The females usually run the pride and would not let a cub of this size anywhere near a male. But, the painting is splendid!!
