Welcome! It is a cool Anime. (haven't read the Manga it came from) It touches on a lot of metaphysical questions like, what is life? Is life just information? That sort of thing. Very introspective while at the same time there is an action story of the hunt for a cyber-terrorist called "The Puppet Master" I highly recommend it.

Yea i saw it yeeeears ago. It was well drawn and i loved the art but i kinda found it a bit slow (sooo many people would hate me for saying that!) Have never got round to watching the 2nd film. any idea if its worth a watch?

I'm not hating you for it. It did get a bit into navel lint exploration in the middle of the film.
On the second one...LOL I'm not even sure what the second one is. I thought Innocence was pretty good, but, GitS isn't a pure action movie. Which is probably why it seems slow. The second one deals with robots called "dolls" that are killing their owners. In that one Saito is the main character and Kusanage is a disembodied upload on the net. I won't give the plot away any more in case you decide to watch.
The series Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex might be more your speed as there's more action and less lint

Is this almost like the character, Velocity (or something like that)

This was originally a bluewater character and was a cover that never got published as the series got cancelled. I think Bluewater had a legal thing with Top Cow cause of the blue lightening face paint thing which is similar to Velocity but it got resolved.

Me too (cover art only) although I now understand Arcana have bought the rights to 10th Muse. I dont really see this version coming back, hence bluewater gave me permission to use this for my art book.

Actually Arcana licensed the graphic novel and trade paperback rights of previously published content. Basically carrying the bill for the graphic novels. If only that meant the publisher could finally pay their artists lol....
