Description
I'm not into this kind of landscapes so much, but I couldn't help it this time. I started this piece as an album cover for a client, but the commission was canceled, anyhow I decided to keep going on the illustration and make my personal concept with my usual elements and color scheme, and man I loved the result
I had a lot of fun doing this piece, I used human figures made on Poser and DazStudio to get references of light and shadow and I combined them with real human parts, even some shots of myself xD. All the rest is photographic material too.
Credits:
Textures: Sirius-sdz and CGTextures.com
Sea and Volcanic rock: CAStock
Bushes EveLivesey
The rest is personal files, some painting and purchased stock.

stunning! The idea, lighting and all the tiny details make your eyes wonder from one creature to another, admiring the textures and blending. Good job Great that you decided to keep it up despite cancelling the commission. I'v also had one of such pieces... turned out that once the client abandoned the project, I kept it up and the final result was far better than what I'd probably end up with otherwise.
