I may be a stupid idiot, but couldn't you just, like, draw the lines on a transparent layer in photoshop so you don't have to clean up anything?

*Slaps across the face* Cleaning up is meant by the process of sketching something then narrowing it down to allow precise inking. In this case the blue lines first followed by black pencil, scanning and removing the blue, reversing the image to make errors pop up then fixing up what has to be fixed. Only then I can start inking.
