Wow! What kind of spider is it? I always have trouble taking macro pics of spiders & other insects, any tips?

On a critical note: I feel that there is not enough detail in the spider. Might be either focus or blur. White balance may be off. I also feel like there is too many distracting elements in the picture. (I still appreciate the picture though)! Maybe if you had gotten closer...
On a lighter note: Thinking about it jumping on me gave me shivers! About how big was this thing?
