Mia Sadowski was the first of the Bloodscribed.

Originally a Sightseer, one of those ignorant thrill seekers eager to have a paranormal experience without fully understanding the implications, she eventually stopped dabbling and got serious about magick.

As she pored over an old grimoire purchased at an occult car boot sale, Mia discovered a dark secret that would forever alter her destiny. The obscure tome contained a recipe for an ink potent enough to harness the essence of demons — their very lifeblood.

Assisted by a former Demonskinner, she managed to successfully capture and bind a number of these malevolent creatures. From the blood of the captive demons, she crafted a unique ink and tattooed her own skin.

Each mark on her body burned like a welder's torch, infusing her flesh with the essence of the hellspawn. Mia screamed and sobbed but forced herself to go on. With every stroke of the needle, she became a little less human, intertwining her life force with the infernal power she had stolen from the demons.

Word of Mia's transformation spread and she gained disciples, power-hungry and unprincipled individuals like her, to whom she taught the secret of the ink. They began to call themselves the Bloodscribed and their activities gained the attention of other factions in the occult world.

Demons, understandably, despise them. Any Bloodscribed unfortunate enough to fall into their hands will suffer a fate too terrible to contemplate. To the Demonskinners, the Bloodscribed are a menace, their reckless pursuit of power threatening to shatter the fragile peace that exists within Invisible London.
