Description My oldest (camera) friend
Zeiss Ikon, Box Tengor 54 box 120 camera (1939)

The Zeiss Ikon Box-Tengor 54 was a German made 120 rollfilm camera for 16 frames, 4.5 x 6cm. Limited controls for focus (supplementary lens rotates into place), aperture (waterhouse stops f11 & 22), brilliant viewfinders and a socket for a cable release, its a wonderful, honest little thing. Construction is of thin pressed and folded steel sheet spot welded or held together with folded tabs. The finish on this model is black paint on the exposed metal parts and the covering is a man made material made to look like leather.
The name 'Box-Tengor' was applied to host of cameras from the mid 1920s until 1956, mostly in the 6 x 9cm format, but some using 127 and even 116 rollfilm.

My example is "still going strong" and work fine.

It is a sign of how slow my mind is today, that all I can see are your perfect nails.
It took me four tries to get the camera in to the picture!
Cute camera now that my eyes accept it's reality.

My oldest recollections are of the Browning automatics, old but not as old as this one.
Back in the days when you needed to know a little more than today to take a picture.
My most recent, and this has been a few years, was the Canon AE-1, a nice little camera,
one that i had never really mastered.
Nowadays things are a bit simpler. I have foiund that the Nikon D-100 is a very nice piece of
equipment with excellent clarity. There is also the D-200, both a quite expensive, at least for me.

Good to see you up and going again Carlzon. I had not seen anything submitted by you in
while and I was wondering just what was up.

Very busy with the end of the semester, very busy at work plus I started a stock account. Only being able to
submit one photo at a time is a slow process. and then I have a 'somewhat, okay' camera to work with so my
submissions are not as clear as i would like but there is some useful stuff there. It really depends upon
what a person needs for their particular work.

Anyway, good to see you going again. Now let me see what your next submission is about.

Both still in working order then?

Do you ever feel tempted or decide to break out the old kit and take it for a spin to see how it holds up?
