"A sudden stroke of inspiration by Existentialtorment Done as an exercise, and to compensate for the painstaking work Caroo did on the picture.
This time we leave our established universes and enter a more of a blank slate. You can read this one even if you don’t follow Breaking, the Sleepoverse, et cetera. Just know who these two wonderful Princesses are, and be ready for some frights, ooo! Because naturally, for a pic made as a gift to us for New Years’ Eve, we went with a Halloween theme. Nightmare Night, everybody.
In this story, Celestia finds herself at the center of what seems to be a cruel joke on behalf of her sister. The Princess of the Sun truly thought that cutting Nightmare Night short didn’t mean a thing, and if anything, was somewhat amusing. Little did she foresee however, that a new, mischevous sense would fill Luna with fantasies of revenge? Now, Celestia finds herself with a truly nightmarish time ahead. Bound tight at the center of fesitivites, her feet locked away from her, rendered bare and at the behest of a naughty public, it seems everyone’s favorite Princess has quite the intense time ahead. Perhaps even far more intense than she could have even feared…
This time around, Existentialtorment tried to be far more concise and quick! And seeing how this is just over 9k, he may even have succeeded! So if you’re one for shorter fics like Breaking of Celestia, this one’s for you! It’s also incidentally about Celestia getting it hard. Nothing but pure action, action, action. Yet not entirely dumb and thoughtless.

You know I can’t get over how much you’ve improved. It probably rings a bit hollow to you as an artist, but from our point of view, you’re way better than you were a year ago. This pic is a case in point, it’s as good as some of your fully textured and shaded pictures used to be. You’ve learned to use simpler, less time-consuming techniques to achieve a lot of the same effect from the more advanced stuff. Moreover, having been at the stream, I can in fact confirm you’re way more expedient than you once were – you finished this one in frankly amazing hours, and with distractions. You likely mostly see a lot of issues with your work, but do know that from an uneducated enthusiast’s POV, things look pretty good.
Speaking of, while I’m kinda biased since this WAS a gift for me… This is one of your juiciest pics by far. You can make simple, generic expressions have real identity to them, which I haven’t seen a lot of artists manage. Celestia’s, for instance, isn’t mind-blowingly original, but it’s distinctly hers and fits straight into the picture. Luna is a snuggable bitch patootie who has a cute and seductive enough presence (her abs don’t go unnoticed) so you don’t notice you didn’t bother with her hair. To be honest her mane was the one thing I missed from the original, scrapped sketch. On which note, I do applaud your resolve to just scrap that one, it was THE right thing to do in the end.
And of course these are very, very good hands and fingers. Your windy whistles pic was definitely the best for a while, with the playful twirly motions you could see the hands doing, they looked…. Pretty unique, really, even if the gloves and the mood may not have been for everyone. Well, these are a perfect balance. They look mean and playful, the motions are detailed and straightforward, and they make great use of her HUEG feet. My favorites are the one slotting through the toes on her left foot and the one on her right heel, I would say. The plushy push-in effects, hnng.
These are the best female HUEG feet you’ve done, too, at least so I believe. You definitely have female feet down now, I think. The style you tried with that scoot picture is great for smaller, more slender ones, and bigger, plushier peds can easily take a page from this one. I admit I was more of a M fan as far as your feet went, but now it does all seem to be very even. You’ve made them real expressive, too, not only with the blushing and sweating, but the toe motions as well. Back in the day you hardly did that at all, now look at you. Plus, the way the rope looks and functions is a big step up from the way you usually did toe ties – IMO it’s best when it’s either like this, or a tickle abuse styled tie bar.
In the end, I do hope that the fic ends up being as enjoyable for you as the pic was for me and Arcadias. This is a good start to the year, even if it’s inexplicably Halloween themed.
