Is this set in the same universe than your Macadance AU? (If Shining wasnt born in that AU, it would make sense that Cadance would go for the nearest thing that reminded her to him)

Yes and No - Yes, it is set in the same universe and No, that doesn't mean Shining Armor doesn't exist. He does and he and Cadence just didn't end up together completely independent of this new history series
