I know it's been a long time since I've updated my dA journa and even my dA gallery but well, school has started so my time is restricted to the weekends only. This one was kind of rushed out. I didn't do it hastily but this was meant to be part of the birthday surprise for my bestie, Jenetta but my stupid brain didn't remind me last week so the completion was delayed. -.- Anyway, I did take my own time to go stock-hunting, cutting and etc, including the light tweening. Realism is something I'll love to accomplish yet sadly, I'm not to that mark yet.

This picture started without an aim. Well, not really. I just told myself it have to feature a human at least, for it to be special since I'm not avid human manipulator. And Jenetta isn't exactly a fan of animals but she doesn't hate them too and I just had to incorporate some animals in so yeah.. This piece is titled "The Guardian". Why? Once I've blended the lady in and darkened the background, I had to keep telling myself not to make this image too emo or dear Jen may get the wrong idea. So I picked out a wolf to go with her as a companion but the right side of the image was annoying empty, then I had this weird idea. And everything came flowing.

Basically, this is an image that shows three totally different beings who are the best of friends, They've gone through thick and thin together and this lady is supposed to be a guardian sort of who takes in creatures whom other humans despise and dislike. Raccoons are known to be pests who rummaged through trash bins so humans usually shoo them away with loud warnings or even with objects which are thrown to them. Similarly, wolves are known to prey on livestock, thus they are not popular with farmers. This lady is supposed to be someone who take those who are unwanted and protect them, just as they would protect her. Like what the words in the manip says, even in the darkest days, there will always be a light and that light will often come in the form of friends. <3

Well, Jenetta, my dear friend is sooooooooo awesome because when we first met, we weren't exactly very close but we were no foes. Just classmates and then later, friends but after a while, when some thought of me as a loud, gossipy person which was one of my downest moments, she was the one who brightened my days back then and now, we're firm friends even though we're separated in different classes. Happy Belated Birthday, Jen! <3 This is supposed to be the other part of the surprise or well, to compensate or console for the lame stuff I gave you. =X Stay happy, ok? Don't emo anymore. xD Friends forever! Love ya!
