If you think the last tutorial was long...pffft. IT IS NOTHING COMPARED TO THIS BEAST. This is at least double the size of the last one D:
I made a poll awhile back asking people what they'd like to see most in my next tutorial. Out of the options I gave, I got mostly inking, hair, background, coloring large areas, blending, and a whole lot of "EVERYTHING!".
You guys got your wish. I included EVERYTHING
This isn't ALL of the steps (I think I left out at least 1/3 of it), but these are probably the most useful stuff to put in a tutorial.
I hope this will be helpful and that you guys can get something out of this! (If not, I would be terrible sad). I tried not to repeat myself from the last tutorial and go over new things. So yeah, let me know if it helps. I will be very happy :B

I have trouble inking straight lines, for example, their arms or long legs, for some reason I'll start off good, then I get nervous and the line start to bend! >.< Is there a way you recommend doing that? I start with 0.03, and go over with 0.05 where I see that it needed a correction. I know a lot of practice will help but I was just curious if I"m doing it wrong.. or are you're supposed to flick the line softly.. or?.. I haven't tried the flick motion yet, but I fear if I do that it will go off in to another direction even if you glue your eye balls on the paper LOL.
If you don't have time to answer, perhaps one day you decide to do another tutorial, you could include how to ink face or straight lines in general, to connect one line and the other? There are also lines in hair too that sometimes goes off to a different direction on their own I'm not sure if I'm confusing you. but right at the end of your line that you draw, tends to bend D+ Ahhhh! *SHOT*..
Anyways thank you for this tut, I will be reading it over and over trying to remember all the tips and put it in my drawings.

For the inking part, do you think you could use a Sharpie fine pen or a black ballpoint pen as a substitute?

You could, but it wouldn't look good in the final result. You're better off buying artist grade inking pens like Copic multiliners.

I want copic multliners since I have some copics that I want to try using, but currently I use an alternate. It's called the Sakura Pigma Micron and is also an artist grade inking pen. Another thing is, the finer inking your doing, the thinker you want your inking pen to be. Also, it's good to have several of the same pen just in case you run out. uses copic mulitliner size 0.003 and a staedtler inking pen (size i forgot) (oh and she mentions this somewhere... I think in her first tutorial...) and she mentions something I find quite helpful, that over time, pen nibs get thinner. Anyhow, I would also recommend getting the Sakura Pigma Micron since I got them for a pretty low price at Dick Blick. Copic multiliners I believe are much more expensive... by the way Sakura Pigma Micron come in many colors and sizes. They are waterproof too~

One question: When I ink with my Micron pens, after I erase the sketch the lines tend to look faded. Any tips on how to help prevent this?
