Wow how in the world do you paint like that?? It's amazing! Do you paint the background colour and then yourself? or....the other way around? Do you paint a solid flesh tone and then go back later to paint the beard? Do you paint in layers and let each dry or do you paint all at once? I wish SO badly that I could paint well. You create some truly magnificent portraits.

Thanks. To answer your questions I don't really have a set way of working per se. I usually work very quickly at first and slow down as I get into detail. I paint all over the canvas jumping from one area to the next in no particular order. I work wet on wet in oils. Rarely do I ever let a painting completly dry before I've finished. Sorry if this isn't too much help but I like to keep it fresh when I work.

Beautiful work. Nice color composition again. The blue and orange hold that face and the other colors together nicely. Good contrast overall, very cool. Beautiful background, love all those subtle color gradients.

I like how you put all of the colors into the skin and the beard especially. I try to do that when I paint, but you do it very well. Colors make things look more alive, more real.

Composition and color palette wise, very nice. Can't think of anything to say to really improve the painting but it would have been cool to have the canvas' height longer. Giving it the length kinda expands on the 'idea' that you're looking up. In any case, great painting.
