He probably is a little bit guilty. I mean, I don't like Darkstripe, but I can kind of understand his thoughts.
So, okay. He is living normal can life with his two friends, Longtail and Tigerclaw.
Then, Bluestar lets this kittypet join the clan, and Darkstripe is like, "What? Why? I don't want a kittypet in my clan! We're not THAT desperate!"
And then, this kittypet gets into a fight with and beats his friend, Longtail.
THEN the kittypet starts disliking Darkstripe's other friend, Tigerclaw.
Then the kittypet goes into ShadowClan territory to retrieve a cat from another clan who supposedly stole kits and killed Spottedleaf, supposedly gets Ravenpaw killed in the process, comes back, is rewarded, and becomes a warrior.
THEEEEEN the kittypet starts showing even more distrust to him, Longtail, and Tigerclaw.
And suddenly, Tigerclaw is a traitor, and the KITTYPET is the heroic one.
Then, Bluestar makes the kittypet DEPUTY, and Darkstripe is all, of course, like, "This is really dumb."
Darkstripe now has to follow the orders of a cat who once ate twoleg rubbish.
And then, when Tigerstar becomes leader of ShadowClan, Darkstripe cannot speak to his old friend.
When Darkstripe tries to take Tigerstar's kits to see their father, Darkstripe is punished.
Quite suddenly, this kittypet, this twoleg creature, is LEADER of the clan, and Darkstripe just can't find any pride in the name of "ThunderClan" anymore.
Then, not trusting him, the kittypet sends Brackenfur to stalk him everywhere.
Darkstripe starts making plans with Blackfoot to join ShadowClan, but he is caught by a kit, and, embarrassed, Darkstripe feeds her deathberries.
Darkstripe is secretly a little guilty about hurting the kit, but does his best to hide it and act scornful.
When the kittypet exiles him, he goes right to ShadowClan, as he and Blackfoot had planned anyways.
He suddenly finds himself killing innocent cats, and he wonders if he made the wrong choice, but when Tigerstar is killed by Scourge, he finds he could do whatever he wants.
In the battle with BloodClan, Darkstripe immediately goes to find the kittypet. He lunges, but Graystripe kills him, and Darkstripe is afraid in his last moments of life, saying that everything was fading away.
Not that I like Darkstripe, not that I dislike Firestar, I LOVE Firestar- just these were most likely Dqkstripe's feelings.
