(I am Nanulak's Father)
The brown bear lunged for my throat. But then, I opened up my jaws and clamped them on him, as if to eat him. I bit the brown bear in half!
And then my son spoke. "That was my friend!"
There was one half left of Nanulak's friend...

I disliked Nanulak so freaking much DX He kept saying, "I'm not afraid of anything!", and a few events later he hides behind Toklo or on Toklo. :L Nanulak you little butt.

It's sad that the last book is coming out soon D: Next year, I think? Seekers really needs more love. It's stupid how people judge it because it's not cats or whatever. Ujurak and Lusa are my favorite characters. I can relate to Lusa so much.

I can't help but think that Nanulak might have a mental condition (I don't mean it in a bad way). He seems to believe that his family didn't want him and his reactions were scattered around...I don't think Nanulak was evil...I think he was ill and that made him think these things were true when really they weren't...
It's kind of sad really.
But this book has me puzzled and interested. Polar and Brown bears, two famously solitary creatures, living in family units outside of mothers and cubs. I seen plenty of bear shows and never have I heard of this. I know large number of bears do gather for food events...it's kind of warming though...It makes me realize that this one bear family could happen...(And now I'm going to be gloomy again)

He does seem rather young and jumpy, too. Like most angsty teens. Do that may be why as well. It's sort of like finding out you're adopted; except he's case is that he can't accept that he's a hybrid (if I remember correctly xD)
;o;; Really? I've never heard of that, other than if it's a mother with her cubs.

Those other Grolar (I wish there was a nicer word, it sounds so...like you're gargling it) didn't seem to pay much mind to it. But he was sure changing moods very quickly, a little too quickly compared to the other characters, so many a mild case that is added with is discomfort. Kind of would be nice to know what became of him.
Well it's not really social gatherings, it's just the bears gather in one spot. Mainly it occurs with brown bears when the salmon are running. It's kind of dangerous because males are present, but I guess the idea of free food with extra calories is worth the risk. But bears traveling in groups is something I never heard, mainly because males are solitary.

Yeah, bears don't normally travel in unit unless, like I said, it's a mother with her cubs. But Seekers isn't based on realism, so eh. XD

And it's rare for a brown bear to be friendly with a black bear...but maybe that's what makes the pairing (Toklo x Lusa) so supported because they normally aren't on friendly terms and of course they're cute.

That could only mean one thing... NANULAK'S FATHER AND TAQQIQ HAVE THE SAME PHENOTYPE!
Do you know what that means?

What do you mean by "the stripes"?
Nanulak's Father doesn't look like Taqqiq (Compared to Taqqiq in "Watch it, Salmon-Breath!")

I JUST finished reading this book and I must say that Nanulak is a jerk that somehow didn't figure out that what he did was wrong. Sheesh, I would've liked it if I was half-polar half-grizzly!

Nanulak sees his father, whom he hates. He doesn't tell Toklo it's his father, just a bear who bullied him. Toklo attacks him as a way of revenge for Nanulak. Nanulak tells him to kill him.
