I love Thistleclaw & his character development...everyone's opinions I agree with but to add in I hate also how much attention it brought which left Thunderstar & Pinestar's novellas in the dust.

There are no words to describe how much I hate the whole "pedophile" angle the Erins were trying to go for with Thistleclaw. Don't get me wrong, he's not the greatest cat ever. I do believe he's not one of the good guys, however he's also not that bad. Yes there were some things he did that were wrong. For example, the Tiny incident. (But in all fairness Bluefur waited until he was pretty beat up to step in. So if people are going to complain about Tigerpaw's and Thistleclaw's behavior, the same should happen to Bluefur).
Anyway, I actually find it laughable that they were going after the "pedophile" excuse on this couple. I mean yes, they are very human-like in their behavior. They act more like people than they do cats and one of the Erins have called them "little furry people" before. However, if Thistleclaw gets sent to the DF for "being a pedophile" then what about Snowbird? Scorchfur was confirmed to be the father of her kits in Outcasts...When he himself was an apprenitce. Then it seems Dustpelt had a thing for Ferncloud when she was an apprentice. We can't forget the infamous LeopardfootxPinestar who was easily old enough to be her great-grandfather. There's also couples like AshfurxSquirrelflight and BramblestarxSquirrelight. Yeah, the age gap wasn't that big, but Squirrelflight was still around apprentice age when their feelings started to bud and that was for both of them. And of course we also have ThornclawxBlossomfall. The point is, if Thistleclaw's going to get flack for "being a pedophile" then why aren't these other cats?

Well, I don't think it's a pedophile angle. More like maniplution angle, if you've seen Death Note, not the movie, but the show and books. You'll know that Light didn't love Misa, but manipulated her into being a, backup, or an annoying pest who would do anything for him. Misa saw this as being his lovely girlfriend. But Light saw it as a way for him to be the god of the new world. Just like Thistleclaw, he probably pretended to be in love with Spottedpaw just for her to, pull, her into the Dark Forest and train their.

well, most of the age gaps were between consenting adults. dustpelt and ferncloud is okay, since there's not a huge age gap or anything, but it would be considered statutory rape (i think i remembered that right), and scorchfur and snowbird are very minor characters, and a huge spotlight was put on thistleclaw and spottedpaw's relationship.

I haven't read Spottedleaf's Heart yet, simply because it's not out in Germany yet and I don't wanna read it in english xD
But apart from that, I agree with you saying that Thistle doesn't have to have ANOTHER 'special role' to make him more evil, he was a caring father, and maybe if his sister didn't die or Rosetail 'cared' a bit more for him, he would've been a great warrior.
As I said, I don't know anything about Spottedleaf's Heart, so I don't know what exactly happened with SpotttedxThistle, but I could MAYBE even imagine them being some sort of friends.

thistleclaw was tbh kind of a sweetheart, he was an amazing mate to snow fur and he was warm to spottedpaw/leaf. In my opinion spottedleafs heart didn't change my opinion on thistleclaw. To bluefur he was an arrogant ass but in reality he should be in star clan. Think back! What did he do wrong. His only mistake was training Tigerpaw/claw/star to kill. People say "he is evil! Read the parts he is in in the DF" but really the Erin's confirmed that over time the cats in the DF influence cats to be evil!! He wasn't evil in thunderclan. He just hated Bluefur and she hated him, nothing's wrong with that!
