Remake of this: kjaskhdakjbfi'm part of the Warriors fandom who has erased Thistleclaw's extremely OOC "pedophile" behaviour towards Spottedpaw like ummm Spottedleaf's Heart? never heard of her
Thistleclaw has and will always love Snowfur. Erins, please stop trying to write him in a bad light just because you want him to be ""UBER EVIL"". gosh i'm so mad

while i agree that he definitely had many moments where he was kind towards others, he did make his own decision to train with the DF and pledge his loyalty to them - they may have manipulated him and twisted his feelings to submit to them, but ultimately, that was his choice to make in the end :<

tbh I think they should write a book about him. the most they wrote about him is in spootedleafs heart, the only mention he got in BP is the arrogant asshole better known as Bluestars enemy.

In my perspective, it was kind of his fault for Scourge, I mean, he just let Tigerclaw attack him as a lost and frightened kit. Though I sort of agree with you: the Erins sort of failed to give him an evil prospective and make everyone hate him. That's just so unfair. Like, who did he kill? What did he do wrong? Sure, he was disloyal a few times, but nothing like trying to kill anyone.

I'm willing to defend Thistleclaw at any moment tbh
imo, Bluestar caused absolutely all of her problems so to consider Thistleclaw the villain of that book just doesn't make sense at all
(before anyone screams at me, let me say this: Bluestar is a very interesting character, and the fact that she isn't perfect is what makes her interesting. But the fact that she always plays the victim card and the fact that everyone seems to forgive her is very wrong to me. Thistleclaw was crazy, yes, but he didn't break the Warrior Code as many times as Bluestar did, plus she hated him immediately for no reason. There was an awesome chance there for true character development for both of them but it wasn't handled as well as it probably could've been.)

Why does everybody say that???. Thistleclaw was legit training in HELL since he was an apprentice. He liked it too. Had no real reason to be training there. Thought the warrior code was stupid. And then after Snowfur dies he pulled the moves on Spottedkit/paw who was basically a baby compared to him. He sure got over her quick. He was quick to attack and would have let Tigerpaw kill Tiny. Thistleclaw can be blamed for how Tigerstar turned out. Vicky Holmes herself said that Thistleclaw was never a good cat. (I would know. I was the one who asked her if he was ever good for my question at the “The Last Hope” book talk.) The ERins also debunked that’s whole “Bluestar chased him out of Starclan” thing.
Bluestar broke the warrior code by mating with a cat she loved. She then tried to transport her kits to their father for the safety and future of her clan. But this led to the ACCIDENTAL death of Mosskit. Bluestar does not compare to Thistleclaw.

I'm fairly certain that I made that comment before I read Spottedleaf's book (though I can't remember), so my opinion has since changed. In any case, I respect and understand your opinion regarding Thistleclaw's faults. That comment was my opinion regarding Bluestar's faults, and I still stand by what I said about her acting as the victim quite often. Hopefully this doesn't come across as confrontational; that was not my intent.

I agree! Bluefur in BP constantly feels sorry for herself and many readers are quick to feel sorry for her as well. In many ways, she is as arrogant, ambitious and stubborn as Thistleclaw - and I feel like the only reason why so many people are more inclined to hate Thistleclaw in BP is because of her biased telling of the story.

I think Spottedleaf's Heart just exists so Thistleclaw can be a manipulative asshole. I don't use "pedophile" against or for it, since cats don't care about age(and will literally have kittens with their siblings and parents). But at the same time, no one uses the argument that cats are more likely abandon kittens less likely to survive to defend Rainflower.

I mean, if they wanted to write Thistleclaw as a manipulative asshole, then that's fine - just why the romance portion? he could have easily done it as a friend or just someone who Spottedpaw looked up to - it would have helped them to stay more in character and would still make a good enough story.
The pedophile argument is a funny one and a lot of people seem to be divided about it - like you said, cats don't really take age into consideration, but the cats in this particular series are very anthropomorphized and we tend to project human feelings and morals on them - which makes this situation feel like nasty pedophilia (even victoria holmes seems confused, since once she's said cats irl wouldn't mind the age gap and another time she says that the reason why thistle went to the df was because of his "nasty" behaviour of approaching a younger cat)
and you've got a good point there - seems some instances of "real life" in the warriors universe are more acceptable than others

I agree, it wasn't needed. It caused a lot of controversy(even some people calling others pedophiles for shipping them from what I know), and made good ships like Dust x Fern to be talked about. I don't mind an age gap, as long as both characters are warriors and aren't as naïve and innocent.
I think real reason he went to the Dark Forest should have been more connected to about the prophecy Goosefeather gave about him, and his ambitiousness(he was that way even before he and Snowfur were mates, if I'm correct) and readiness to spill blood. While I do like the idea that Spottedpaw still decided on her own to be a medicine cat, which seeing Thistleclaw kill the Dark Forest cat nudged her towards a bit, and knew he was a bad cat in the end, I agree that they didn't have to be in a relationship for it to work.
In the end, the couple made Spottedleaf and Thistleclaw's love to Firestar and Snowfur feel a lot less authentic. I realize that cats can love more than one cat in a lifetime(and in real life feral cats don't mate for life as far as I know), but at this point, loving more than one cat causes problems, as seen when Squirrelflight is confused about Crowfeather and Leafpool loving each other. If they REALLY wanted Thistleclaw to have more of a reason, make up some character outside Thunderclan and have him kill them. If you can keep pregnancy secret in these books, you can hide the fact you killed someone. And we all know he would do it; he nearly killed Oakheart once.

Erin Hunter juste make this story with ThistleClaw's and Spottedleaf for give a importance for this one and writing a book with her =w=" Otherwise, Spottedleaf is not a interresting character. She just fall in love with Firestar and enough. I can't tell you and argument exactly WHY I hate Spottedleaf (because... I'm french ? XD And explain in english is... DIFFICULTE !) But PLEASE ! Erin Hunter just gave this relation with Thistleclaw just for HER ! Just for give a reason to writting this story and give a importance for this little bitch (sorry)

That is true, cats aren't very choosy when it comes to age, but the fact that these cats were written to have human-like qualities, many people are uncomfortable reading about it. :>
I think Spottedleaf was already interesting (well, sort of) before this book! If anything, this book made her character worse, not better. :<
