Remake of this: kjaskhdakjbfi'm part of the Warriors fandom who has erased Thistleclaw's extremely OOC "pedophile" behaviour towards Spottedpaw like ummm Spottedleaf's Heart? never heard of her
Thistleclaw has and will always love Snowfur. Erins, please stop trying to write him in a bad light just because you want him to be ""UBER EVIL"". gosh i'm so mad

Even if I still think Thistleclaw was a jerk while he was alive (I'm kind of "meh" about him being evil when he's dead), I gotta admit that he really did love Snowfur and Whitestorm. Awesome artwork as usual, by the way.

Considering he had been training in the dark forest since even before Snowfur's death (as seen in Crookedstars Promise) and went straight to the dark forest at his death (confirmed by Erin's) he was technically evil. Tigerstar loved Goldenflower and look how he turned out. Apparently Spottedleafs Heart happened because they thought that they needed to make it more clear that he was evil. It wasn't good though.
Either way, beautiful picture.

I agree that he's bad (maybe not to the point of "villainy", but definitely not a good guy) - especially when it was revealed he chose to train in the Dark Forest for terrible reasons. However, I feel like the Erins are trying too hard to write him as this super evil character,, like they're writing books just for the sake of making him look worse and worse (and doing anything they can (- even writing characters OOC) to erase any good qualities that he had). They don't realize that an evil character can have redeeming qualities and still be evil. That's why they should've just stopped with Thistleclaw after Crookedstar's Promise.

I never found Thistleclaw evil. Arrogant, bloodthirsty, and angsty? Yes, but his motivations it seemed (in my eyes, at least) what was good for Thunderclan, unlike Tigerstar who was in solely for power no matter the cost.

I totally agree with you on the whole Spottedleaf's Heart mess.
That was just painful to read, and I have no idea why they wrote Thistleclaw that way.
You can have a villain be a villain BUT show a "good" side of them.
This makes the characters more realistic and complex. Very rarely are people (or cats in this case) just 100% bad.

So true! he was perfect as he was in Bluestar's Prophecy (we could see he was loyal and cared fiercely for his clan, but was also flawed in many ways) and fine when the Erins revealed that he was training in the Dark Forest in Crookedstar's Promise
Spottedleaf's Heart just came out of nowhere - there was no reason for him to be motivated to pursue spottedleaf like that and we had no indications of it in the other books either

Not to mention it ruined Spottedleaf's character as well. Up until this point Spottedleaf was written as a medicine cat prodigy, then they make it so she didn't want to be a medicine cat just like every other medicine cat in the series!
The whole book was painful to read and messed up two characters like a horrible fanfiction.

Ohh boy... Spottedpaw was very likable in Bluestar's Prophecy because she wanted to be a medicine cat so badly. She knew what she wanted from the very beginning and she liked the idea of healing, not fighting. Then she became this wishy-washy character in Spottedleaf's Heart? And the finality in her decision to become a medicine cat was to "find a place of sanctuary from cats like Thistleclaw" please ...
A horrible fanfiction sums it up pretty well lmao

yeah!! and not every "evil" character has to be evil, evil, evil all the time... it's so much for interesting to read about broken characters and anti-heroes who end up making bad choices

yesss i totally agree with all this!! i feel like there tends to be "mary-sue villains" in the warriors series, where there's just bad characters who are evil and have no redeeming qualities. it's kind of annoying after awhile, because like you said, villains who aren't two-dimensional are so much more interesting and likable.

the erins didnt write spottedleaf's heart to make thistle 'ubr evil' they realized that bluestar's prophecy didnt actually paint him in an evil light and wanted a good reason for him to go to the DF so their minds automatically jumped to pedophilia???? I havent read the book and i dont plan to mainly because

i don't understand,,, like they're trying to send him to hell for pedophilia, but i read a twitter post by one of the Erins saying not to mind the age gap because they're cats?? i thought that was the point of the book - that it was wrong for an older cat to manipulate a young cat using romance? like pick a lane??? we are so confused

While i agree that it was insensitive for him to act that way, Bluefur did take Snowfur out for a walk and then decide to drop hints that she was interested in a RiverClan cat,, which ultimately leads her to her death. Thistleclaw was probably also expressing his grief in the form of rage, as some people will do.
Also Bluefur was a bit of an ass to him in general as well, so I can understand why he'd be angry with her. :0

Like..are we going to blame the ShadowClan cats for it? Sure, they played a part - they should've never been on their territory. But Thistleclaw wasn't there, maybe if he had been and saw his mate die, he would've raged at the ShadowClan cats instead of Bluefur. But since he wasn't there, his anger poured over Bluefur, who was the closest cat for him to blame.

If you read the book, Snowfur continued chasing them onto the Thunderpath. Which, if i remember correctly, Bluefur tried to call her back. Bluefur may have been in love with someone from another clan, but she didn't kill her sister.

I don't blame Bluefur for what happened, but Thistleclaw, in that moment, did not hear the full story and he only understands that Bluefur decided to take Snowfur out for some reason. Therefore, I can understand why he was angry with her.

No. HAVE YOU READ THE BOOKS yourself. Don't look at someone else's opinion. Go to a local library and RENT them. That's how I got my mitts on them in the first place and then went on to buy books from Amazon so I didn't have to rent them again.
