He looked up and saw the sun starting to glow on the horizon. "Stormhazel, may I, could I ask if you.." he glanced away, not sure of how to say what he wanted.

"Ask what?" She murmured, but followed his gaze to the sunrise. "Oh," she murmured, turning to face it, padding up to the edge of the cliff. She leaned out over it, into the dawn light and the cooling sea breeze, closing her eyes into its glow. "Isn't it beautiful?" She whispered, as though even a murmur could break the fragility of the moment.

He looked at her, how the pink of the sky glowed ever so slightly on her fur, the way the breeze kissed her face. "Yes.. yes it is."

With her fur swaying in the breeze, she glanced over her shoulder to the tom. "Won't you join me?" she murmured, voice partially stolen by the sound of the wind as it carried her breathy tones away. "What were you going to ask?"

He moved to go sit beside her. "I was.. going to ask if you'd stay here with me a little while." He said, looking down to her.

"Of course." She smiled up at him as the larger tom sat at her side, her paws tucking in between her legs as she sat neatly, turning her gaze back out to the dawn. She fell softly against his side, leaning against her friend, seeking his companionship.

He let her rest against him. The wind ruffling they're fur and the warmth of her being pressed close to him was soothing and comforting, but also stung, like pressing gauze to a wound. He looked down to the rocky ground under they're paws, the cliff's edge being about a tail length away.

Stormhazel glanced up at the tom for a moment, quietly gazing at his strong but terribly lonely, terribly sad expression. Her heart ached for him. She understood his grief all too well. With a sigh, her gaze dipped down to the sea beneath them, when an idea crept into her mind. Pushing into his fur, leaning up on her toes slighly, she whispered, "See Bearstar? Despite all the rage of the sea, the cliff still stands besides it... As will I."

He looked to her, his eyes shifting to look at hers as his chin lowered just enough to rest against her head. "But for how long? Nothing is forever, I know that now."

"For forever." She murmured, her voice bold and certain as she said those words, words that sounded so big for a molly as small as she.
