I started the 4 of these over a year ago, the fact that it took me this long to finish them is incredibly disheartening. I have learned so much in digital painting in the last year and I am sad to say that this image does not fully display all the knowledge I have gained in the time. I felt like I was back-peddling more than progressing with each piece. Trying to keep the style and overall image quality consistent.*Sigh* At least they are done now.

The good thing Casey is that you know that you've improved because when you look back at your old pieces, you notice your mistakes. The dwarf looks the best out of the 4 characters. The edges looks a lot cleaner, the shapes are more confident and the contrast is also popping a lot more. Anyway, I love seeing work from you man and keep on being a student in your field

Thanks man! I definitely feel like the dwarf was a big improvement over the others. I did a lot more pre-planning for the dwarf as well (sketching) before going into Photoshop. That helps a lot, getting the initial idea down so I don't spend so much time trying to figure it out while I draw. Thanks for the kind words dude, I am going to keep trying to raise the bar on my 2D stuff while still trying to improve on my 3D work.

There are so many good artists out there and I just want to keep working on my stuff and pushing myself until I am sick to death of it haha!
