James was danish soldier back then mostly he worked for red team before he retired, after he retired he arrived to usa and met a woman that he fall in love with her as she did same that their got married, next year the woman tell james that she is pregnant and james is happy about that he is going to be father, in 9 months later the baby boy was born and james was so happy to see his own son is born and his son is going to be name casp, casp the scout due to casp have a scout face and then that was the legend scout was born, When casp was 15, james disappered due to red team needs his help because o.W.n is ambush his team, james gets his old gear and he told his wife that he is going to miss her so much along their son casp and before he is going into war agasint o.W.n, he have to check casp in his room he see young teenage boy is asleep, james smile to his son is fall asleep and close the door and goes down stairs and head towards door that lead to outside and said goodbye to his wife and wife never see james again.

5 years later james was return home from fighing agasint the o.W.n, ever since he came home he realized that his home was raided by o.W.n (which it was part of the plan) and his wife is captured by them, so much to his anger and sadness but then he was SHOCKED that he was thinking their also capured his son casp then he remember that he was disappered for 5 years that his son casp is 20 years old which thats mean casp moved out before james's wife got captured, james goes up to casp's old room and notice some science stuff and thats when james remember that his son casp want to be scientist when he grew up, james was heard about his son was working in black mesa until resonance cascade starts, james thought that he could raise casp to be merc (which he did but casp quit) instead of being scientist (which casp did became scientist), james also did heard about casp escaped black mesa but mostly he was in coma but he survived, james hoped that his son could save wife but he was wronged, james learned terrbile truth that his wife died from totured in o.W.n mini base in deserted which casp didn't save her in time, now james want to find his son all across any battle area so he hoped their could working together like father and son.
