Very good..I like the subtle curve of the land..the minimalism is nice, as well. The planet texture on the larger one is slightly...flowy...as if the planet doesn't have land but rather is covered in pools of lava. If that was your intention, that's fine, if not, maybe try adding some of your own texture to it. The smaller planet looks great.

Thanks!!!!! Extra texture, got ya! no, didnt intend on having it flowing.. Still a novice here,, learning how to do it right.. But you are right in that I am more of a minimalist.... I think way too often they try to cram too much into the space scene, nebulae, planets, moons, all a riot of color and movement, whereas in reality space is a pretty lonely place.
Thanks again!

No prob! I by no means claim to be an expert, either...still learning myself! Minimalism is great--I agree totally. Otherwise it seems just waaaay too busy and crowded.

Very pretty and misty/cloudy. The moons are neat. The big one looks like it's got alot of ice and that what's reflecting the light. And the rest of the moon is made of a dark material. So -ghost moon- rising. Umm.... That perhaps didn't make much sense. But it sounded good in my head.

Great image, love it. I have played a little with Transporter in the past. Can't afford the full program and wasn't sure if using other' worlds you could sell prints from your own render.

Thanks!!!!!
That is a good question...... I think it is like Apo in the sense that what you do with a flame after mutation is yours to print and sell... When they put all of those free worlds up in the challenge area think the same applies.... It would be nice to find out. Maybe I will post that question at 3dcommine and see what their response is..

Hey,,,
I just got home from work,,, here is the questions and the answer i received...
had an interesting question asked of me over in Deviant arts today, about being able to make and sell prints of worlds that are in the FREE section...
In other words the worlds that are upped in the free sections thru out the net, if the mojonaut finds a site they like, can they render that and sell the prints, or can you only sell prints of worlds that you create?
In this particular instance the person is only using Transporter and has not bought Mojo itself, so creating a world from scratch is out for them..
Which in turn begs the question, how would this also apply to one who has bought Mojo and wants to print from Free worlds?.... I hadnt though of this myself, since just rendering 1280 takes me forever on my computer..lol so making one large enough to print would tie up my computer for days...
Although I do hope by next spring to have a better one so I can buy and run Mojo3 without problems..
TIA!
Ali

You know, different versions of this have been floating around, and I think the baseline answer is: render and print at will! If the planet is available in free stuff that counts as a 'release' by the creator. Public domain!
However, I think it would be nice to mention who made the planet. I've been trying that recently and it makes my conscious feel good (plus, if people like the image they can find the planet and explore themselves).
Best, J.

Wow! That was quick. Thanks for that Ali, appreciate your help.
I might just pop over and give Transporter another try. Don't suppose I'll end up making anything worth selling, but I shall enjoy myself trying lol
Cheers,
Ann

I would definetly think that before you print a world, find the creator and ask permission.. simple enough because as you can see the responses vary enormously depending on the person..lol
here are some more comments on that subject:

Well, since You made Your own unique view from that planet, the image, hence the poster, is Yours. I have no objections against posters, however, if the planet will be used in commercial video or advertisement, I will be pretty interested in at least credits if not saying more

Armands said it.

I don't endorse the concept of the 'digital sandbox' and will never release any of my creative output.
This issue has been kicked around a lot and the 'official' attitude is quite clear, so I won't belabor the point except to say that an artist's work should be protected.

At last, Debijo - something that we can agree on! (-_^)
Just imagine that instead of posting a JPEG file in the 3DC Art Gallery, you had to release your entire Photoshop doucument, including layers, masks, paths, curves and so on!
What if someone then ran one of your layers through a one-click filter and then re-posted it as their own 'tweaked' version. How would you feel?

The best policy is to ask the planet creator for permission before doing anything - then you will be sure.

Well since i own Mojo2 I can get the professional version for the upgrade price of 199.00.... and seeing I never had to pay for version2..No it is not pirated, lol, I won it in a contest at 3dcommune, then paying the 199.00 isnt too bad... I can afford it, but being so close to christmas season, I have ten jillion other things I need to buy for others for Christmas.... plus I reallllllllly need a new computer to get it to run well....lol, so everything seems to escalate, buy software, but hassle with old computer to get it to run, so now need new puter, 1000.00 please, now my software ends up costing me 1200.00..lolololol
so where it all ends.......

A screw driver and a seven eleven come to mind but beware the clerk has no Hammer.
Serious you might check out that commercial software for private use.
I don't hold much hope they most likely want a membership fee and then sell your information to every one and their grannie. It's worth checking into and then if you know a teacher they can purchase with a really good discount.

Thanks!!!!! the good thing about Mojo is that you can get the Transporter FREE which allows you to explore and render worlds, you only need to buy if you want to make your own worlds...
