coool... are the planet and nebula from Mojo too? I downloaded the demo and played around with it for awhile, but it wasn't doing anything for me really...except rendering slowly.

Casperium In reply to draqza [2006-03-22 18:28:16 +0000 UTC]

Usually when i do a mojo scene everything is done in mojo or imported into mojo... but this time I added a planet I had made in PS,, the background nebula (white) is Mojo but the top one is an Apophysis fractal.. I also added the trees in PS, so this one is really more a composite. Mojo is a lot of fun and they have literally several hundred pre made planets that you can donwload and play with..

Thank you, Elly.. and how have you been lately?

Ellygator In reply to Casperium [2006-03-22 21:07:17 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for asking! Work has been frantic since January and I got assigned to a new project. Now I have to beg, rob and cheat to get time to do drawings and take care of my DA account. Sounds crazy, but I almost wish I was back on the road, I actually had more time.

Still, it's nice to be home every night, too. My new project is where I live so I get to sit in rush-hour traffic every day and sleep in my own bed... And yourself? What's life like?

Glad to hear things are going well... jetsetting must be nice, but i can imagine how tiring it could get after a while... Me, I am embarking on a major redecorating/remodel job..thinking about selling our house in a year and it needs everything done... it needs it wether we sell or not,, but at least this way I can get a lot done now versus doing a tiny bit every year for the next 10 years... Scenario:House is from 1977, ranch style, 1480sq ft, 3 bedrooms and 2 baths with a family room... I need to replace all of the windows, plus I want to add 3 more to it, front door and sliding patio door need to be replaced along with carpet and moulding thru out, plus kitchen needs to have cabinets revamped, plus paint, spackle and repaint all interior door, closets and pantries.... plus total landscaping...
Over the last several years I have redone the family room, master bath and small bedroom.. but I want to add 2 windows and sliding patio door to family room and one window to bath, which of course means redoing the paint job again!...lol... we have had the house almost 8 years, but it has almost gone up 70K in value since then, so if i put a lot of hard work and about 6k in remodel stuff i should be able to raise the value another 20K or more... so i will be busy this year, plus work and time to do DA stuff... arggghhhh..lol.

Wow! You really have your plate full! That's some major rework projects you've got planned. But I think with that kind of profit margin on your eventual re-sale, it should be well worth it, and hopefully get you into a new place that will require no additional work, so you're set to relax afterwards.

You guys got to be pretty handy if you can tackle all of this yourselves - my hat's off to you! Especially when it gets to replacing or even adding windows you move out of the league of your average Home Depot shopper, I think.

Good luck with your remodeling, and yes, I hope we still get to see a bit of you on DA, too, from time to time. It would be frightfully boring without your cute dragons and your lovely alien landscapes. They are always a wonderful escapist dream!

Thanks!! hopefully I will get my neighbor who is a contractor to help putting in the windows and doors,, he also offered to help make the holes in the house for the new windows...
Even if we decide NOT to sale all of these things need doing, so it is well worth the time and effort to get it done now, versus later..lol
