Bliss effect done nicely
The terrain could be lightened up a bit more though I know it's a hard task to accomplish in a bliss scene - but it's possible
What's the funniest thing in almost all bliss tutorials is that they lie There's no things you *HAVE TO* do. You can make a bliss in almost every sun/camera position and it don't have to be black...

OK, returning to your scene - it's really nice, I like it much

Casperium In reply to utak3r [2005-06-07 06:46:36 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!!!! I had the exposure turned on ALL the way and it still looked dark..lol.. will experiment some with it...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

utak3r In reply to Casperium [2005-06-08 21:10:37 +0000 UTC]

The problem is, that if you don't have any light in your scene, you can even over0open your shutter and it won't help much... it's the lighting setup. Hmmm... maybe I'll write some day a tutorial about it?... Who knows

Ellygator [2005-06-06 13:18:40 +0000 UTC]

Love your stark contrasts of light and shade, and the bliss almost looks like a giant red sun setting. Beautiful render!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Casperium In reply to Ellygator [2005-06-06 16:48:53 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Elly,, I like doing things that contrast, and this bliss tut is great, only the guy forgot to mention exposure, had a totally black scene and couldnt figure out what was wrong until i opened the camera exposure totally...lol.. been away from Terragen far too long......

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ellygator In reply to Casperium [2005-06-07 02:04:39 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, Terragen can throw you some interesting curve-balls.

I've been dabbling it for a while, but published at lot of my stuff at TerraNuts, not here.

My big thing right now is to get bigger terrains, you know where hills fade into the blue (and not because you upped the mist in the atmo...) It's kicking my pants so bad my ass hurts...

Casperium In reply to Ellygator [2005-06-07 06:44:50 +0000 UTC]

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was into Terragen pretty big there for a while because i couldnt get any realistic landscaping done in Bryce, but then Mojoworld came along and i fell in love, especially now that i can import all types of models. It makes it nice than bryce in some ways, but a lot harder to use and not as manageable texture wise as Bryce... I wish they would just merge all three of those programs,, would make a hell of a program...lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ellygator In reply to Casperium [2005-06-08 05:03:28 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, imagine the photorealism of Terragen with some of the stuff you've been showing us with Mojo! We'd even get those UFO sceptics suckered in!
