Casperium In reply to ??? [2006-08-29 20:01:42 +0000 UTC]

Now there is an idea... I should have had some steam coming out of the pipes....lol... considering I made this pic about 5 years ago I think it still stands up to todays graphic standards..eventually I will remake it.. as for the humanesque limbs, i used 2 poser models posed in an embrace, imported them into Rhino (3d modelling app) and modelled the pipes over the figures...considering all i knew about modelling was how to pipe over something i think it worked out marvelously, and on an old computer P2 with 450mhz and 150mbs of ram, it took forever... now my kickass 3.4GHZ would polish it off in no time..
Thanks again for your wonderful comments!!!

My pleasure, Ali. Yeah, some carefully-placed, yet subtle jets of steam would really add a nice touch to this piece. Not that it needs anything added to it. This is really great, especially considering how long ago you created it.

Thank you... very few people actually notice the 2 figures, they just see the pipes...

Wonderful concept although I tend to agree with BVision. Some bump mapping on the floor too. If you do plan on reworking it, it migh be worth turning down the ambient lighting to emphasise the spot(s) and that would enhance the mood (and the central characters).

A piece

Thanks!!!! this was originally done in Bryce3 with a 450mg processor... since then I have learned a lot more and have a more powerful computer,,, I am hoping I will be able to accomplish all that you said and more on a remake..

Casperium In reply to Mr-Magic [2006-02-24 16:31:18 +0000 UTC]

The set up and render was done in Bryce.. The people and pipes I made in Rhino and imported into Bryce. In Bryce I textured it, did the lighting and added a couple of models. This was made quite a few years ago using Bryce3 and a really slow computer compared to today,, took forever to move the models around and set it up correctly, and then render...lol... today my new computer could probably handle it with no problem and render super fast..... but I still love this old pic best of all i have made. Thanks!!!!

Thanks!!!!!!! I made this one years ago and has always been one of my faves because it is so original. I have a big poster of it on my wall at home... it usually takes people several looks before they actually "see" the people in it...

Thanks!!! The pipes and figures were actually made in rhino and then imported into bryce.... making the couple embracing literally took me days, but it was well worth it.. I made this one quite a few years ago and I still think it is my most original piece to date.
