Description UPDATE:
-The event has been officially announced! More information pokeplatform.deviantart.com/bl… >here!

-The setting is still the same of PP! The characters will NOT be magically transported to medieval-fantasy times! It's an adventure in the PokePlatform island!

-Please list on the artist's comments all items you're carrying. No more than 2 of each for healing items and no more than 5 different kinds of items in total. Official Pokemon items only. For example: 2 Hyper Potions, 2 Super potions, an Antidote, 2 Oran Berries and a Poke Toy. 5 different kinds, 2 of each for healing ones.

-Aside from those, they can have one hold item.

-Other random items (cellphone, flashlight, your pet rock, etc.) can be carried too. Limit is- including the Pokemon items- things your character can EASILY carry on their regular backpack/bag/etc; mind both the volume and weight. No carrying 99x of anything!

-Tools are ok, but no weapons, please.

-No pets or Npcs on the adventure.

Hello! This is the character sheet you guys will be using to participate on the RPG Adventure event!
You can either save the png image or download the psd file. If anyone needs a different format, let me know!

Here I'll explain how to fill it and (briefly) the system we'll use. It's also a basic and hopefully comprehensive guide for members who had never played any tabletop RPG before.

Name/Pokemon/#: Duh.

Looks: Show your character's best adventuring suit! (Show any bags/accesories they might be carrying here)

Attributes: Physical/Mental/Social: This is where the RPGing begins. You'll distribute points on these nine attributes according to your character and some rules. You'll have 5, 3 and 2 to spend on each category- Physical, Mental and Social- in any order. They always start with one point.
This means your character might be, for example, better on the social skills, but not so good on physical ones; or vice-versa. It depends on how you'll choose to spend these points.

Here are some examples of filled attributes: This is what Cyan's sheet would be like: 24.media.tumblr.com/0e48dc2b23…
And this is what it'd look like if he was still a nidoking: 24.media.tumblr.com/684a4e60b5…

What these little points mean- aka How we'll play this game: These attributes are used to determine how many dice you'll roll when you want to perform a task. The better your character is at one of them, the greater the chance that you'll do it well. Basically, you'll roll that many 10 sided dice and see if the results are above a certain number, which will be defined by the Narrator according to how difficult this task is. I'll explain that in detail:

You'll have a Master or Narrator all through the adventure who will be a mod describing what is happening, the place you're in, the enemies, etc. They'll guide your imagination and act like the 'computer' on an electronic game.

Let's say I'm playing and on my turn I tell the Narrator I want to examine the room. The mod will ask me to roll my Perception attribute for that with Difficulty 6. I look back at my sheet and see Cyan has 3 points of Perception. I roll 3 dice (I'll go into how/where later). Let's say I got 4 - 6 - 8. Two of them are 6 or higher- those are called Successes. The more dice above the Difficulty you get, the better you'll do. So looking at those results, the Narrator could describe the room to me in some detail and maybe Cyan would even notice something hidden.
Now, if I had gotten a 3 - 2 - 5, I would have no Success. My action would have failed and the Narrator would tell me Cyan didn't notice anything particularly interesting, it's just a regular room (even though there might actually be something relevant there).

Besides this system being very simple, we will focus on the roleplaying aspect. Which means even if you succeeded on your action with dice, you'll still have to describe how. And sometimes only the interpreting might be required instead of rolling attributes.

But how are we going to roll dice? I'm glad you asked! We'll use this website: roll20.net which allows you to roll a variety of dice in private rooms so everyone can see and also share a map. I'll provide the room link at the day of the event. Don't bother with all the codes they have listed, we won't use them.

Ability and Moveset: Abilities are there to be handy to find, but they will not require any rolling. The moves are only 4, yes. You'll wisely choose 4 between your (potentially) 8 moves. HMs are allowed.
The official description of the moves will be used to determine (by the Narrator) their effects.
Attention! Damage will be based on your character's attributes on this sheet instead of their official stats in games. Strength will be used for physical attacks and Power for special attacks. So keep this in mind when sorting your moves and strategies!

DESCRIPTION OF EACH ATTRIBUTE

Physical
Strength: Used to lift, push and punch things. Also works as an Atk stat for physical moves.
Dexterity: Could be used to run, jump, hit and dodge. Similar to Spd stat.
Vitality: Used to absorb damage. Character's HP is 3*VIT.

Mental
Wits: Fast thinkers will act first in the heat of battle and might find ways around problems.
Power: Used as a Sp. Atk stat, for special moves.
Perception: Used to notice things/people, observation, and anything hidden.

Social
Empathy: The ability to read or understand other beings and their actions.
Charisma: How likable your character might appear to others. Could be used for leadership or emotional stability under pressure.
Manipulation: Used to persuade; either through intimidation, reasoning, flirting, etc. Will always require RPing to back up dice results.

If you have any questions, it's important to ask! Don't be shy!

More information on the event itself will be released as a journal next week, but you're welcome to fill the character sheet already. Submit them under "Events > RPG Adventure > Character Sheets". If this first adventure goes well, we might have others in the future!

Hmm, it's supposed to be for all versions of Photoshop. Do you want me to save in another format? Or give you a png?

I saw that we could choose 4 of our 8 "potentially" moves.
I thought on our cards we were only allowed to have up to 6?
Or is the 8 moves more of a mod thing?

6 moves plus 2 HMs.

Concerning items I can't quite make out what you mean by 2 for healing and then 5 different types. So is it like I could carry 2 of every healing item in the known pokéverse and 5 other items or 5 "types(?)" of items and if any are healing i can have two of each?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Cassaa In reply to kuromizuouji [2013-06-06 19:55:52 +0000 UTC]

Nono, I put in that rule exactly so people wouldn't claim to be carrying 99x max revives in their bags or every know healing item ever. It's five different items, being that, from those, healing items can only be 2 of each. The others should just be things your character can carry in their bag/backpack/hand easily, minding volume and weight.

Can I still have a iron bar? If its not being used as a weapon? Like its a method of propulsion. Should I just go find a pokemon item equivalent?

Cassaa In reply to LindyLizards [2013-06-06 19:51:06 +0000 UTC]

The character can carry another random thing, the limit is for pokemon items only. It's just so someone doesn't claim to be carrying "99x of everything ever". Just limit it to things that can be carried in whatever bag they have easily. And I'd rather he didn't use it as a weapon, yes. To keep things simple.

LindyLizards In reply to Cassaa [2013-06-06 21:14:02 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I wasn't gonna. Just aerial ace requires some sort of... push... into the air. I'd rather not try and do that with flame thrower like normal since things are gonna be dice rolls and stuff.

Cassaa In reply to LindyLizards [2013-06-06 22:20:33 +0000 UTC]

What makes you think I won't make you roll the push too, hm? Imagine him failing and falling over the thing, haha. I'm joking. OramI?
But you can use Aerial Ace without it if you want.

Satsu-Kururugi [2013-06-06 17:30:39 +0000 UTC]

When you refer to the item, you mean Pokemon items. If out Character is carrying Standard Items such as "flashlights" "compass" "etc." is there a limit on those?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Cassaa In reply to Satsu-Kururugi [2013-06-06 19:43:59 +0000 UTC]

For those is just a logical limit of things you can shove inside whatever bag your character will be carrying. Remember that too much weight can be a hindering thing, too.
Good that you asked, I should probably add that up there.

CJsHands [2013-06-06 15:24:57 +0000 UTC]

I think I'm still confused at how many points you have to spend on attributes in the beginning since Cyan's example shows more than 5, 3, 2 in each category

O(-<

is it like...pick one category to distribute 5 starting points, another for 3, and finally one for 2?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Cassaa In reply to CJsHands [2013-06-06 19:41:07 +0000 UTC]

Yes, exactly that. But keeping in mind every attribute already starts with one point as shown in the blank sheet.

So for example, if you choose Physical to be the strongest, so the 5, you have to distribute these 5 points among all three: Str, Dex and Vit. Just so, 3 points on another of the two remaining category and 2 on the last category.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

Kuromitu In reply to CJsHands [2013-06-06 17:21:40 +0000 UTC]

Yea, pretty much!
There are three Categories (physical, mental, social). Each Category has three Attributes. All Attributes receive an initial 1 point by default.
You then choose how you want to separate the 5, 3 & 2 into the Categories. For example- you can have 5 in physical, then 3 in mental, then 2 in social.
You then distribute the points you assigned inside each Category into the Attributes. Continuing the example- with 5 points in physical, you can have 2 on strength and 3 on vitality, or 1 on strength and 4 on dexterity, or even 2-strength 1-dexterity and 2-vitality. It all depends on what you feel describes your character best.
Keep in mind, you still have that 1 initial point in all of the Attributes that's already present there on the sheet, as shown by the Pokeballs that are already black. You then add onto that the points you want on each Attribute.

I hope that answered your question! ovo/
